“The value of life is greater than the cost of living it,” proclaimed Mrs. Wright in 2101 during the Embargo of Africa. The success and recognition gained from this two year economic and environmental struggle inspired such vast landholders, like Alaska to close its borders to corporate opportunists and refocused industrial attention to reusable energy and eco-friendly manufacturing – everything from houses, sneakers, sports, & television. The repositioning of the Alaskan frontier paved the way for other US states, like Florida – in consideration of their dwindling Everglades, to defect from the union; and sovereign countries, like Norwegia, became environmentally sound habitats whose sole focus was the re-awakening to non-pollutant natural resources in every day lives.
But, it was the disastrous March Across Antarctica, in 2118, which brought the full might of the corporate controlled, World Council, on her collective of green rebels. Though, the goal was to raise awareness to the shrinking polar base her movement lost much credibility when, it was claimed, that 2% of the southern ice base melted by heat produced by the sheer mass of attendees and electrical housing. The resulting decrease in ice mass caused massive flooding, death, and property damage throughout the world. Eden, still to this day, claims that the polar caps were sabotaged by the corporate council to defame and discredit her movement, citing that eco-electric produces no heat residue.
Eden evaded world authorities until her eventual capture in 2121. But, she was never brought to trial. Days before the event, hailed by Gobalcations, as the “trial of the Millennium,” Eden Wright – aided by members of Fauna for Everyone – made a daringly theatrical escape during a live GlobeCast. She remains wanted to this day. All attempts by World Police have proven futile in locating her or dismantling the legacy of living green. Eden Wright remains an icon of hope and salvation in the twilight years of corporate controlled hierarchies.
